Two Plato assignments: "I like your style", and "What's inside" 20 points
Now and the Future PowerPoint presentation 50 points
You are probably finished with the above assignments, so continue working on your Possible Careers Assignment. This will be due next week.
Thursday, October 16th
Bellwork:
A potential employer has you fill out a job application,then asks if you have a resume. What is a resume?
Classwork: Start work on your possible Careers assignment. See Tuesday for details.
Monday, October 13th
Bellwork: Do you think you would like to have a part time job while in high school. Describe what it might be
Classwork:
1. Family Interviews: Listen to the class lecture, then review the Family Interviews sheet. It is due at the start of class next Monday, October 20th.
2. There are two more Plato assignments to complete: "Do what you like " and "I like your style"
You should complete the first one, "Do what you like" today.

3. Continue working on your PowerPoint presentation on Now and the Future. This will be due Wednesday, Oct 15th. ( See Wednesday, Oct. 8th for details on the project)
Wednesday, October 15th
Bellwork:
If you see an job opening and it lists " Benefits included", what does the term benefits mean? Give three or four examples of benefits that might come with a job.
Classwork:
Today, your presentation on Now and the Future is due by the end of class. I will come around to check your work and grade it. If finished, start on Tuesdays assignment on Possible Careers. See Tuesday, Oct. 14th for details.
Tuesday, October 14th
Bellwork: How many hours per week is a regular full time job? (assuming no overtime)
Classwork:
Complete the second Plato assignment : "I like your style" This will take about 30 minutes at the most.
Many of you are finished with the Plato assignment.
If so, finish your PowerPoint presentation on Now and the Future. It is due tomorrow.
Remember, each slide should have one complete paragraph or more of writing (except title slides) and no bulleted sentences!
Start on Possible Careers assignment:
Possible Careers
Objective: This assignment is designed to help you continue thinking about careers.
The website is the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and there is a specific site for teens.
Go to the following website
http://www.bls.gov/k12/ take a look around the web site, then do the following:

Create a Word Document.
Save it on your s: drive as possible careers __ Your name _ Class
Give your document the title: Possible Careers for me
Then write the following questions, and provide answers, in your own words, using complete sentences. Each answer should be one paragraph, (five sentences) or more, in length. No credit will be given for copy and paste work!
1.What is the title of your possible career? ( One sentence is fine for this!)
2. What is this job like?
3. How do you get ready?
4. How much does this job pay?
5. How many jobs are there?
6. What about the future?
7. Are there other jobs like this?
8. Where can you find more information?
